Chainmail Dragon by ChainedBeauty Chainmail Dragon by ChainedBeauty
Similar to the keychain I made a while back, this dragon is an improvement on the original design, using more than a couple of different weaves.

Not only is it bigger, but its far more flexible as well. A hook is attached to the tail, allowing it to be worn, hung or placed in a variety of ways.

I made this so a friend of mine could wear it to the local Renaissance Festival with his outfit.

*EDIT*
Check out the red and orange one as well:

When you say 75-80 rows of rings does that include the head and tail or is that just the body and then the head and tail are additional? This is gorgeous and thank you so much for the tutorial for a little one that can be lengthened to a longer one! I'm so doing one! :D :D

That's just the body.  The head and tail are counted separately.

The tail in this larger dragon is not the same tail as in the smaller ones. What is the weave you used here??

That one is Full-Persian: www.mailleartisans.org/article…

I didn't use that weave for the bracelets because it would've made them more bulky, and I wanted something that would work as an adjustable strap.

How long is this fellow? You specify the length of the bracelet dragons, but I'd be interested to know how many links long this one is. He's so gorgeous! :)

He was 2 feet, 4 inches long. I think it was around 75 or 80 rows of rings? Its been a while, I don't exactly remember.

I want one! That is so cool, combining the different links and the scales. As you might guess from my icon and my name, I'm just a bit into dragons. :)

This one was a modified version of something I found over at M.A.I.L: [link] There's a lot of good resources on that site. Nowadays I go into a project with an idea, and just work through it.

o.o I want one in black with a subtle silver to it, maybe with garnet (or similarly colored) eyes, and a tongue would be awesome.

And I'd pay for it too o.o Though it would have to wait till I can set aside the dough.

The tutorial is for a bracelet version, but I used the same size rings, just made it a bit shorter as to fit around a wrist.
